Midna is a video game character is Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess. She takes the place of Naavi and acts as a sort of guide for Link on his journey.
I sketched this a while ago when I was doing a "Legend of Zelda" portfolio page. I liked how it turned out! Especially her eyes! What do you think?

Dryad
A dryad is a tree nymph (spirit) that is often depicted in the form of a young woman. Dryads are Greek in origin. Generally, the word "dryad" was used to describe an oak tree spirit.
This dryad, however, is not an oak spirit. Actually, this piece was originally supposed to be an exercise in sketching plants/trees. While sketching a plant in my mother's garden, I had left a large empty space in the middle. Not sure how to fill it in, I started adding a female face.
This is my first realistic portrait. It's definitely not the best out there, but it's my favorite I've done so far. (I'm sorry about the dark smudge near the top of the picture. My scanner decided it didn't like me at the time...)

Erica
"Erica"
So, this is a sketch of my sister Erica. I actually did this a few years ago while we were outside in the backyard enjoying a summer evening. I was originally planning to work on sketching trees and plants, but saw Rick sitting on the edge of the veggie garden and decided to do a portrait. This is one of my favorite pieces. I believe it truly captures who she was at the time.

"Fragile"
So, my brother said it looks like she's playing volleyball. She's not. That's supposed to be an egg, not a volleyball. I've decided she's not really a fairy... more like an angel or air spirit. The wings and hair were super fun to do

So, this past Halloween (2012), our office submitted a painted pumpkin for a contest. Guess who got elected to decorate it? This is Dr. Smith as a zombie from the video game Plants vs Zombies. We didn't win, but I sure enjoyed painting it!

Greetings! I'm Rachel and you've just stumbled upon my art portfolio/gallery! Well done :)
I hope you stick around for awhile.
I'd like to warn you right now, I'm not a writer! I'm an art hobbyist; meaning I love to draw and paint but am definitely not a pro.
A few things you should probably know about me are as follows.
Thanks for dropping by and suffering through my rants and raves. I truly appreciate your time.
Farewell,
Rachel

I'd like to warn you right now, I'm not a writer! I'm an art hobbyist; meaning I love to draw and paint but am definitely not a pro.
A few things you should probably know about me are as follows.
- I'm training to become a crystal healer. There is not a class for it. Don't go looking.
- I am working on tarot reading. It's quite interesting.
- I am an avid reader. My bookcase will no longer hold any more books :)
- I am a video gamer. I've grown up playing NES...started when I was about 5.
- Music is often my inspiration. You'll find quite a few pieces referencing music.
- I respond well to constructive criticism. I do NOT respond well to flaming.
- My favorite artists are: Amy Brown, Charles Wysocki, James C. Christensen, Aly Fell, Michael Whelan, Alan Lee, Gene C. Clark, Lucille Clark, Cathleen Clark-Hale.
Thanks for dropping by and suffering through my rants and raves. I truly appreciate your time.
Farewell,
Rachel
